All About Elaine Cato
Elaine Fisher Cato, M.Ed., is a native of Nashville, TN and an alumna of Tennessee State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. During her matriculation, Ms. Cato excelled on the dean’s list and was head majorette for the Aristocrat of Marching Bands. She continued on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education from the University of Connecticut and prides herself as a member of the prestigious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. By profession, Ms. Cato is an entrepreneur, inventor, model/actor and founder of Intellectual Beauty Models. The former JET Beauty of the Week is also a former Miss Black Tennessee and Miss Black USA for which in a circle of life, she served for six years as state director representing Tennessee in the national pageant.
As first runner-up for ABC’s reality show, American Inventor II, Cato is not afraid of failure. She appeared on national television as she beat out thousands of opportunist to be selected to represent Chicago during auditions for her invention of the ‘Backless Bra’. Ms. Cato was the first and only contestant to ever have her product brought to mass market with a promotional tour in the United States, England and Canada.
Currently, Ms. Cato is working on new patents for other innovative projects through the foresight of Modern Innovations, LLC. As a member of The United Inventors Association (UIA) and after serving as a panelist for various organizations including, Chicago Black Inventors Association and the National Black MBA Association, Ms. Cato aspires to continue educating others by sharing her knowledge of how to take an innovative concept from idea to market. Her philosophy: “Make use of your God given talents to create life changing opportunities”.
